A falling branch brought down the wires to our house in Kumbakonam on Mar 12th afternoon. The live wires were rubbing against a metal pole and sparks were flying. My family called the EB and within an hour, a supervisor and two technicians arrived. They fixed the broken wires, checked a fan inside the home that had shorted and burnt out, checked multiple other outlets, checked nearby homes and left without asking for any money.
Used to be we would have to shell out INR100+ for each visit from EB personnel. Kudos to their current efficiency!
