Interesting story - Since we left office very late, during audit time, had to drop my lady colleague at her residence (which is hardly a km from my office), due to safety reasons. While driving my car, two beat constables, who came on the wrong side of the in their bike and stopped my vehicle. Since I was having all necessary documents in order, he asked me about my lady colleague, who is married. I showed them my identify (i am very senior person in MNC) and informed them that I am on the way to drop her at her residence. He started suspecting me and started using abusive langauge. Immediately my colleague started calling her husband to come to the spot. In meanwhile, cops started demaning money from me or come to police station with her and give a stmt why we were late from office and why I have to drop her, which is ridiculous. He was demanding Rs. 500/- to pay to him where as I told him that I have only Rs. 60/- in my hand. He took that money as well and left.

I was at NIBM Road and moving towards Salunke Vihar Road near Bakers Point. A car came from the wrong side right in front of me and parked the car in a very awkward manner. As I was moving slowly, I was able to control my bike to a halt. A police vehicle, saw this car on the wrong side and immediately asked the driver to step out of the vehicle. The police constable asked me to park the bike and move close to the inspector. As I am not a localite, and didnt know how to speak Marathi, the driver took the inspector to the side, started talking in the local dialect and then walked to his car and left.

I was called by the inspector, and he asked me to show my driving license and papers. On submission, he said I was riding the bike rashly and I had to pay a fine. I was shocked to hear the accusation by the inspector and to top it he asked me to pay a fine of Rs 1000. I refused to pay it and said to keep the license and papers as there was no fault from my side. He asked me to take the license and papers from the Kondhwa Police Chowky.

The next day, the inspector kept me waiting for 2 hrs when I went to take my license and papers. When he saw me, he asked me to stand and talk and started abusing me. He then asked me to pay Rs 1000 and take the papers.

We went for dinner to this Lounge Bar, named ********** on 28th July, 2012, as my friend(Girl) had come down from Mumbai. We neither had liquor, nor smoke. We had all papers and documents for the vehicle as well. We were stopped on our way back at the Kharadi Police Chowki and harassed by the Inspector and the constables. My friend's parents and my parents were also aware that she is staying with me in Pune as she had a meeting at her office the previous day and she had mentioned to her parents, that she will be staying with me for the weekend.

Inspite of mentioning this to the inspector, the inspector wanted to get bribe from us. We were caught and kept at the police chowki for almost 2 hrs from 2am to 3.45am and left on giving a bribe of Rs2000.

Where as the gas supply guy says "Sahab jee mujhe 500/- de do , mai aap ko 3 ghantey mai connection dila deta hun"

Want to share this with you all. I got a new flat and now as development is done and occupancy certificate is with me so next step is to get a Khatta Transfer. Property is A+, all documents and every thing is upto the mark and clean, construction deviation is also less than 1% (from 5% which is acceptable). Actual fee for this task is around Rs 2000 but they are asking 600% more as bribe.

Yes 600% more... builder is stating we should go for it else we have to suffer a lot and khatta will never get transfered. Not sure what to do ....One thought which is coming in my mind is to give bribe but also inform ANTI CORRUPTION team and get these BLOOD SUCKING BEASTS behind bars.

Initially I refused but after 5 months had passed I gave in and paid Rs.400 and got my license after 3 days.

For this, I met the village officer, Sanganur Village, Coimbatore, who then referred me to the Revenue Inspector. After all formalities, i was told to submit the documents in the Corporation office ( near Jail Road - Nehru Stadium).
The dealing clerk told us [ my wife & I] to come the next day...the next day...the next day. After about going there for 15 continuous days the employees there started asking us the reason for our daily visits to the office & when apprised they were themselves shocked.
Finally, the person asked me to pay Rs.50/- and take the LHC . The persons name was Mr. Moorthy/**********.
