Q. How to get a new water connection?
A. In order to get a new water connection house owner can directly approach Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board (BWSSB) today with a sanctioned plan if it is a new house or with tax paid receipt for an old house and road cutting permission from BMP/BDA.
Q. How much is the fee to get the water connection?
A. Application forms are made available for Rs.30/- at all service stations, Cash counters, Sub-divisional offices and Divisional offices. Prescribed fees varies depending on the size of the plot and height of the building.
Q. How long does it take to get a new water connection?
A. Time limit for delivery of service varies from 7 days to 15 days depending on the size of the plot and the number of floors. Application is made common for both water supply and sanitary connection. In case of domestic conncetion, sanction is given within 7 days after appying in case of a domestic connection. This is done by the Assistant Executive Engineer of the Sub-division whereas in case of high rise buildings sanction is accorded by a Committee from Chief Engineers Office, Cauvery Bhavan within 15 days from the date of application.
Q. What are the essential documents required to get a new water connection?
A. Essential documents required are as follows -
1. BMP/Municipality/BDA Sanctioned Plan
2. BMP/Municipality/BDA Assessment/ Tax Receipt
3. Occupancy Certificate issued by Municipality/BMP/BDA
4. Road Cutting Endorsement with challan issued by Municipality/BMP/BDA
Q. How to get a temporary connection for water supply?
A. To get temporary connection for construction purposes you have to obtain the application from BWSSB service stations, water supply sub divisional and or divisional offices . Application along with other documents can be submitted directly or through a licensed plumber at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer in Sub division.
Q. What are the essential documents?
A. Documents to be encloses: road cutting endorsement from BMP or local body, tax paid receipt, copy of the sanctioned plan issued by BMP/BDA/Gram Panchayat/ or CMC.
Q. How long does it take to get a new connection?
A. The prescribed time limit is seven days from application
Q. How to reconnect a disconnected connection of water supply?
A. A consumer can make an application for any altercation in an existing connection either directly or through a duly licensed plumber that has to be accompanied by three prints showing the existing supply lines in Blue and the proposals in Red. He shall not extend, alter or remove any connection or fitting in existence on the date of application except with the written permission of the water supply Engineer in this behalf.
Q. What are the essential documents required for transfer of meter?
A.
Documents to be enclosed are Khatha certificate and Tax paid certificate from BMP/BDA/Gram Panchayat/ or CMC with latest water supply bills and receipts, copy of sale deed.
Q. How to apply for transfer of meter to new owner of property?
A. Application regarging the transfer of meter has to be given personally to the concerned sub divisional office.
