Vigilance sleuths probe top Kerala official for corruption

Kochi, Jan 5 (IANS) Officials of Kerala's Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau were on Thursday closeted with senior bureaucrat Tom Jose over a case registered against him following complaints that he possess assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Jose, who is state Labour Secretary with the rank of Additional Chief Secretary and is also the president of the IAS Association, reached the office of the Vigilance here at around 11 a.m. with the necessary documents as the Vigilance has asked him to provide his version.

The case has been directed by a Vigilance court is being investigated by an official who had earlier successfully probed similar cases against a high ranking Kerala Police official and an IAS official.

Vigilance sleuths had conducted a raid at Jose's house in October.
