ACB probe ordered against vigilance principal secretary
New Delhi, Aug 3 (IANS) Delhi's Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) chief M.K. Meena on Monday ordered a probe against Chetan B. Sanghi, the principal secretary in the directorate of vigilance after a corruption complaint against him.
"A probe has been ordered today (Monday) against Sanghi in connection with a complaint of converting lease hold plots into free hold in 2011-12," Meena told IANS.
Sanghi was chairman of the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) during the Sheila Dikshit government.
The complaint was registered by RTI activist Vivek Garg on Monday.
Garg said that in 2011-12, Sanghi who was then the DSIIDC chairman had converted lease hold plots into free hold.
"As many as 350 lease hold plots of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) were converted into free hold plots by Sanghi in 2011-12 without taking permission from the Lt. Governor or the DDA. The DDA had made DSIIDC the caretaker of its lease hold plots," Garg told IANS.
However, officials in the Delhi government said they had no information about the complaint.
"We have no information in this connection," a government official said.
Garg is an advocate and Right to Information (RTI) activist. He had contested in the Delhi assembly polls on a BJP ticket from Model Town constituency.
