A commuter noticed a few policemen collecting bribes from bus and truck drivers at a check post near Mangalore (Karnataka). Drivers hand over hundred rupee notes to officers who allow the vehicles to pass without any check of their papers or the goods. This activity, according to him, has been going on for a long time. He also feels that higher authorities are oblivious to such malpractices.
