You paid Rs.10 for a bus ticket of Rs.9. If the bus conductor doesn’t return the change, would you consider this as corruption?
A citizen of Namakkal (Tamil Nadu) writes to us on how bus conductors don’t return change even after issuing tickets to commuters. Even though bus conductors have coins, they pretend as though they don’t.
In other cases, they charge less than the actual ticket amount without even issuing a ticket. This unaccounted money is then pocketed by them.
