"I won't pay a bribe & I won't leave my stuff behind"

A friend was held at customs. He was carrying 12Ltrs of Alcohol & other goods needed to be declared. An walked through the red channel. Said 'of course dummy, why else would I walk via RED'. customs guy wanted 300% fee over the 10 bottle excess + 50% for electronics etc. Friend trashes one bottle of wine in the bin. Customs guy freaks out. Friend: won't pay bribe or leave stuff &300% is illegal, not worth it. Custom guy looking at zero income coming in his pocket, makes a list of stuff, finally asks for 'actual' duty to be paid only.

Moral of the story : paying a bribe is your own call. Most of us end up doing that because we don't understand or are too scared.
