Trouble-free passport verification
I applied for a passport 3 years ago when I was in final year engineering. The police officer came to my house one afternoon, but I was not at home, since I had to answer university examination on that day. He asked my mother to call the police station once I am back, or alternately to ask me to personally visit it later in the evening. I chose the 2nd option, and went to the police station. I had earlier heard stories that police officers demand bribes to clear the verification, but he didn't ask a bribe, and looking at his personality, I felt scared to even ask him about it. Indeed, I can safely say he would have scolded me thoroughly if I had offered him a bribe. It is heartening to see such honest officers in the police force.
