Dared not to pay bribe

On Tuesday 07-Aug-2012 while i was travelling on my Boxer Bike TN-22 Q-8094 from Ameerpet to Hitech City at 1:30PM. At S R Nagar, while I picked up the mobile and was about to stop and talk on the road side, i was picked by traffic police. My vehicle key was taken-off, I was been told to pay Rs500 but immedietly I was told to PaRs200 while they called me to the back of the mobile poice van. When I shouted I cannot pay bribe, the cop denied it and started man-handling me. After the intervention of the officer in charge who told the police to get away, ( I was telling repeatably dont touch me, I am ready to pay fine rather than to bribe) I paid the file and happily got away from the scene.

I am just concerned why there is so much of openness in paying and receving bribe. All folks were lining up to pay bribe and get out without paying a fine and they will tend to repeat the mistake. The concerning officers name was M ********** Xhander and the Police Van No was AP9P 5131. Though the officer did not raise any voice to support bribing, i know all these things are known to him.
