I registered for driving licence online using www.parivahan.gov.in. The system worked smoothely till it came to paying the applicable fee. The link to sbiepay, the website to which the applicant is taken to by the online process, just did not open despite repeated attempts over days. In fact the website sbi.co.in itself on which the link is purportedly hosted did not open. Hence the need to visit the transport office for paying the fee. The lady clerk entered the data and asked the fee to be paid to a tout who was standing beside the window. The tout collected the fee along with the 'convenience fee' of Rs.200/-.
Now when I tried to access the site for paying fee, it smoothly says that the fee has been paid. So, it is evident that the link to sbi.co.in itself is meant to aid bribery. Whoa!!!
