Harassed and forced to pay bribe for passport verification

I had applied for renewal of passport on 13/07/17 & on 19/07/17 received msg for police verification of my identity from vindhya nagar police station in Singrauli district. I went to police station on 20/07/17 & was sent back by Ram sukh yadav (person in charge for passport verification) . Went again on 21/07/17 with all document, he said to make affidavit in the format provided by him. Processed and submitted document for passport on 22/07/17.
On 01/08/17 received msg from passport office stating that" Police has submitted adverse report for your current address" for which i am sure that they didn't verified it from the designated authority . Again on 07/08/17 went to RPO, bhopal and initiated re-verification. On 10/08/17 Received msg from Vindhya nagar police station for re-verification.
On 10/08/17 around 0130 pm went to meet Add. SP in his office at Singrauli district but wasn't entertained by him. Got a chance to talk to TI (police station in charge- Vindhya nagar) R.P.SINGH his word was "kuch Kharcha paani de do usko kardega, mere pass aane ki jaroorat nahi hai".
Self called on passport toll free number on 10/08/17 and told them about issue which was faced during 1st verification and re-verification and got an advice to put the issue on grievance cell. But was not sure that "will this be going to solve my problem or going to land-up in worse situation".
So finally self called-up my company on 11/08/17, told them about issue and they had sent mine past 10 years records to police station mail-id which i was intimated by office, also they communicated with police station and cleared their doubt my job profession.
On 12/08/17 finally after multiple requests they accepted document. Witness statement was taken again on re-verification and again we have found out that the statement was wrongly typed as it was done earlier. Also we didn't checked the statement during first verification as a part of trust that he must have wrote correctly but this time we checked and told him to correct it. Ram sukh yadav again gave an angry look and said" humko kaanon mat sikho, humko kaanon se bahut nafrat hai" and corrected the statement.
Finally the bribe day arrived i.e on 14/08/17 called up by Ram sukh yadav to visit Police station only for bribe. Reached police station at 1230 pm on 14th .Ram sukh yadav told to meet Mr.Arun mishra(two stars on shoulder), we met and Arun Mishra told" Agar tumko passport chahiye tho tumko paise dena padega, nahi tho jao jahan se banta hai banwa lo". i finally landed up in argument stating that i have already paid 500/- earlier during first verification. Arun mishra stopped me in between and said" tumko passport chahiye ki nahi" finally i have to pay 1000/- because without passport i am jobless/unemployed.
On 21/08/2017 at 0431 pm received msg from passport office that "Police has submitted clear report for your current address".
