I paid Bribe at Mumbai Airport

Every individual is entitled for Rs. 25000 Duty free import. I bought a TV from Thailand. A 40 inches TV amounting to 35000. Though the duty on the remaining 10000 was Rs. 36000, the custom officer Mr A. ********** demanded a duty of 7600. I asked him how did he calculate that amount, he did not tell me that. I wanted to take a strong stand as I know the duty can not be more then 2000, 2500 Rs, at the max even if they take the value of 35000, its 3600 which is 36%.
I argued for about 15 minutes but then I had to give up as I had my family waiting and my One Year old was getting restless.
I ended up giving 3000 Rs. which actually was almost equal to the actual duty. The reluctant officer did not budge.
