I was travelling from GOA to Pune. I bought the bottle of red wine. I inquired about it in GOA whether i am allowed to take a Wine bottle with me or not. Dealers told me yes i can. After crossing GOA , Maharashtra Police stopped me to check the Car and asked for money as it was illegal to carry. Also, they told me new concept of Gandhi Week which happens every year from 2 to 8 Oct. They told me that my car will be seized. When i told them do it, then they started telling " bade bhai ki tarah bol rha hu. kuch de k Kaam khatam karo." . There only motto was to take money from us. We had ladies with us so we wanted to finish things on my friend's insistence. I would only say, they should better put a board asking to deposit money whether u are carry anything or not. The mental harassment would be eliminated at least. They made the trip worst and erased all the good memories from our mind. After that, we just threw that bottle after that check post to avoid further hassels. Also on the next check post, other bunch of cops started asking ridiculous questions like who are the ladies, why are you travelling with this license,, its not valid. License of UP is not valid in Maharashtra. also, you do not have that chip based license and all. They just wanted to take money. at one place, they were noting down the car numbers and asking for money like "Apni shraddha se de do." This post was Sindhu durg Post. After all this, how police can think of Respect from the individuals. They tried their best to scare me by saying that your car will be seized as it was a new one and i will pay the money to save myself. They did not have any valid point to stop me. They left on Innova Car ful of Whisky and beers just because they paid a 2000 bribe for it. And believe me, cops literally shake hands after taking money from them This was the worst scene i saw. I will say, The reputation of the police is totally vanished and i would request the top officials that Put a toll like post and start collecting money from the visitors and please avoid this mental harassment. Please.
