Police Verification

The less told the better - i felt scared that if i didn't pay, my file would never get pushed. The police guy never came to my residence; instead, i was invited to the station for the verification. The verification was carried out very professionally. At the end, I was about to walk out when my wife noticed one of the officers making funny gestures with his hand. Oh, how can i forget not paying them for their hardships.

Promptly, i asked "how much, sir".
"Oh, no no. Give me whatever you like", came back the reply.

I took out 300/- and handed it over.

"500", he demanded.

I didnt want to risk my passport, so paid him the "silence" amount. This got repeated at another police station since I stayed at 2 different addresses in the last 1 year.

After going though all this, I still don't have my passport. It has been a little over 2 months and the wait seems forever.
