Taking undue advantage of out station people

Yesterday I had violated traffic rule(driving on footpath) and was stopped by a traffic constable. I paid Rs400/- fine(with receipt) but my driving license was taken by the Sub-Inspector(Audugodi traffic P.S.) Since my DL is from UP, he told that it would be sent to the respective RTO and I have to collect it from there. I have been staying in Bangalore for the past 6 years and its a hassle to go to UP to collect my DL. I had to plead with the SI/contables and finally after paying a bribe of Rs 300/-(Rs 100/- each for two contables and one sub-inspector) I got my DL back.

There were others as well who went through the same ordeal and had to pay Rs300/- for getting back their DL. I reckon same story is enacted on a daily basis by these policemen.
