Tried to fight corruption but i had to pay bribe to get my vehicle registered

Reported on September 3, 2015 from Bangalore , Karnataka  ι Report #65080

Hello,
I purchased a new car from Kasaragod (a district in Kerala)as I hailed from the same place. Since I am employed in an IT company at Bangalore, I decided to get my car registered in Karnataka (KA) so that I could avoid the objections related to NOC and outside state vehicle.
So I did a temporary registration from Kerala and got the vehicle to Bangalore for permanent registration.
First day in Bangalore with my new car I went to INDIRANAGAR RTO located at Indiranagar BDA Complex for the registration purpose. Me and my dad went to RTO with the necessary documents required for the registration. We went to officers requesting the registration, they denied saying I did not carry sufficient documents.
Note : The only document which I missed was a permanent resident address in Bangalore, obviously I wont have it as I am not a local resident.
I requested them to carry out the registration with my office address as I had proof and documents claiming, I am an employee of the company. RTO officials did not agree saying I need resident address. So me and my dad came out of the complex disappointedly.
On our way back we met an agent, he asked us how could he help us. Then we explained the situation to him. He replied saying he would get this done for us confidently if we pay him some commission amount, we agreed to him.
He went to the RTO office complex , and came after 30 mins. He came out and told us if we pay a sum of 12000 INR the work would be done. We were shocked. Even the agent who works for commission suggested not to get the registration done in INDIRANAGAR RTO.
We came out of the BDA Complex. Decided not to pay the huge bribe . We enquired with few people around the complex, people suggested various RTOs located in Bangalore.
As per the information gathered , with help of a stranger whom we spoke at complex surroundings , promised us to help at ELECTRONIC CITY RTO. The bribe amount demanded in EC RTO was 9000 INR. Again disappointed with the situation we came back with no work done.

Finally after a week of delay with the help of my friend and his contacts , helped me get the vehicle registered in Koramangala RTO for 3000 INR.

NOTE: What ever the bribe amount they demanded were excluding the actual Road tax amount (which came upto 52000INR) I tried to be a responsible citizen by getting the vehicle to Karnataka and pay the karnataka govt road tax. But everyone were trying their best to loot me, tried fighting it for a week but I could not take it any more and finally paid the cheapest bribe to get my work done.
