All dental / medical colleges have to take approval from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Ministry takes recommendation from Dental Council of India / Medical Council of India, and issues its approval. After DCI / MCI recommendation, the approval is only a formality. However since i refused to pay a bribe, I was made to suffer, my college disapproved even though DCI / MCI had given their approval.
Talking to senior IAS and Minister of Health & Family Welfare did not help, as no one wanted to take action against their defaulting colleague. Hundres of students have lost their career. Faculty have lost their jobs. And patients lose free healthcare. Yet no one cares.
This is not the story of a hero, this is a story of a loser... It was better if i had paid the bribe...
