We had a simple fuse tripped in our house. Unaware of it i consulted the electric dept., and two linemen from Yeshwanthpura division, came to our house, claimed that they had to break the meter seal for which official signature is required. Also they said as the officer in charge was in a meeting or something it would take a while for that signature hence offered an alternative-pay them Rs. 300 and they will break the seal open repair it and replace the seal as it was and also a proper fuse. As we had to get things going in our house which is not possible without Electricity i agreed after a bargain for Rs 200.
LAter he apparently found that the problem was not within the meter and in the main switch board in the house where there was just a simple trip of the fuse.
But after the duo left with a promise to return back with a proper fuse, i am not able to place them even today- even after several visits to the dept.
thus sits my unsealed meter fearing detection by any dept., officials and more fine for that.........
