Department with pack of Fools...wanting Pocket Full!!
I wanted a transfer of electricity meter in my name from builders name after purchasing my flat. I am against getting things done through agents because Agents are the biggest facilitators of Bribery. So I submitted the entire list of documents at the MSEB office near Gadkari Rangayatan, Thane. The entire office slept over the documents for 2 months without doing anything. I went to the office thrice. However, the replies I got was that the senior is on leave or he doesn't have time, please come later we are extremely busy etc.. After repeated attempts when the things were not happening we thought its better to get the papers through them personally and move it between departments. So when I went to ask about it again, the boy at the office says' "Sir, you will not be able to search the office where the documents have to be submitted. You will require to pay money." I told him whatever legitimate money is to be paid as charges for transfer we will pay. However, he tried to suggest that in these departments unless you pay 2000-3000 rupees to the officials of MSEB nothing will happen. And he was trying to indicate as though I am fool of even thinking it about doing myself. There are 1000 papers to be seen daily and unless you pay some money your file will never be seen. However, I have decided that I am not going to pay these corrupt departments a single penny as bribe and I am still struggling to get my work done
