TT bribe
My wife and I were travelling from New Delhi to Bihar on the Poorva express recently. We had booked over a month before, but once we arrived at the station we discovered we had not moved off the waiting list. The TT refused to give us a berth anywhere, although having been through the train I knew there were several possibilities. Anyway we waited until late in the night, when one of the attendants took us to see the TT. The TT upgraded us by one class. We paid the exact fee and not a penny more. Later the attendant returned and asked why we hadn't given the TT anymore money, and that just wasn't done. He was asking for a bribe, which we explained politely that we were unwilling to pay, as we had already covered the difference.
