Honest officer in system
I work in a PSU. While submitting my IT return of A.Y. 2009-10 i had given wrong PAN number of my employer for TDS already deducted. Due to mismatch of PAN card a demand of Rs. > 1 lac served on me. I went to Cuttack ITO (left side inside some market on the way to Badambadi from Link road ) from NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh-Delhi NCR ( as I was already transferred from Paradip) and met Sri Sharma ( Tax commissioner or dy. commissioner) and he is happened to be from Ghaziabad. The way he treated me, advised me, guidede me the details to submit ( of course I was carrying every documents) I totally astonished and complemented him for changing my view towards Income Tax office and officers. After some days he telephoned me and confirmed that demand has been dropped after amendment of PAN no of deductor. Salute to the officer for his honesty and service nature. May be soft corner towards me as I was working at Noida and he belongs to Ghaziabad, but I respect his attitude. Keep it up Sharma sir.
