Vehicle Transfer - A highly professional service by Motor Vehicles Department, Kozhikode
I had to transfer the car registration to the buyers name. The original registration was at Trivandrum and the buyer was in Calicut. I just went to the keralamvd.gov.in site, opted the transfer of registration service listed and made the stipulated payment of Rs.150 online. I was pleasantly surprised to see an application generated in PDF format with all the details printed. It also mentioned the documents to be attached and where signatures were needed. I submitted the documents in person at the RTO Kozhikode at the nick of lunch break. Surprisingly one of the the lady officer who was just stepping out for lunch, on seeing me stranded at the empty counters asked what assistance i required and collected the documents, went to her desk and gave me the reference number. Good to see such a courteous customer service from MVD Kerala, which can put my private banker to shame.
The buyer received the new RC book within a months time as promised without any followups. Keep it up Kerala MVD. Hats off for keeping the touts and agents who prey on common man away.
