Address verification delay

Went to the police station and found that the concerned officer was not going to delay the police verification for a passport renewal till some "chai-pani" was offerred. Lucked out by paying just Rs. 200. It seems the going rate is Rs. 500. Upon payment, the verification was done on the spot.
