Just for getting a berth
It was on 15th Sep 2012 @ Dindigul (DG) junction around 9:30 PM. I was waiting for Mysore Express which runs between Tuticurin to Mysore via Bangalore.
Generally i used to book a ticket in SL class. But, that time, i was visiting hometown urgently.
I was having only general unreserved ticket from DG to SBC.
I was bit tired. also having some stomach pain. So, i was thinking to ASK the TTE if any berth ticket available.
Once the train reached the station, i went ahead and approached a TTE who was standing near 3AC coach. He told, "yes, its available". Also, he added "just you get in and sit on B-1, 29. I will come"
I was happily went and sit. I was waiting for the TTE. Once he come, he asked me to come to the end of the coach and in that place no one was there. He was saying "On the record 700 and off the record 300. So, total 1000 Rupees"
I was shocked. But i was not having that much amount. I dont know what to do. I felt that its my mistake. Before i boarded the coach i could have asked the price. Now the train is running already.
I gave him 600 Rupees what i had in had that time. Then i told, i will get the amount in next station, if i find any ATM. If i am not able to fetch, i will get down in Bangalore Station (SBC) and give you.
He was OK for that.
Once the train reached SBC, he was waiting for me when i got down. He guided me to the nearest ATM center and asked me to fetch the amount. I fetched the amount and paid the remaining 300 Rupees.
Though i dont like to pay a bribe, i was forced to do.
