Pre year 2000 all original sale deeds and Index 2 for flats n land were retained by revenue dept and receipt was given (ironically postage was also charged 8 rupees by govt but it was never posted) this original docs had to be retreived if u wanted to mortgage or sell yr property.On the very first day i told the clerk i can only afford Rs 100 ,I am retired from the Navy,I am not in a hurry,I do not want to sell,the property is in my name but i wud b gratefull if u can lessen my misery by giving me a fixed date.For over the next month i made 4 visits (haveli no 1) on the last visit i went at the time he told me it was 3pm i was there on time,I waited till 6pm there were about 20 people at 7pm there were abt 10 ,at 8pm there were just 3 people finally at 8 10 pm he got my original i paid Rs 100 .On the day of the Index 2 there were abt 6 or 7 people that day he was kind enough to call me ahead of others (as soon as i came) within a couple of minutes i got Index 2.Navy Capt V V Pathak Pune
