After the 2nd day of our marriage, I wanted to get marriage certificate so that we both can return to UK.I have been living in UK for 5 years.With the little time spent here I got infected by the honest approach and culture of English.So we filled up all forms and took all evidential docs to SDM Mohali Phase 1.We spent 2 days but could not get anything.An official told us that MCertificate cannot be issued upto 1 month which was mentioned anywhere.The local solicitor who are actually the touts told a different story that eveyrthing is possible provided proper fees is paid.I said we have everything as mentioned in Guidance notes.He laughed and said not this fees Mr. XX but the handling fees.I still could not understand it and then my father in law came to rescue who understood the baboo slang.He said we will do whatever we can if you get us the certificate.So to my suprise the solicitor said you guys relax and give me the docs and collect your certificate in evening and have a relaxed lunch.And we came in evening and got what we wanted.I then understood that he paid a percentage fees to everyone in the process involved.These were the same people I approached and asked me for more docs just to harass me and I was foolish enough that I could not understand that I am not English yet.
