First they delayed the process by not sending the police havaldar at my home for verification. As no one did visit my home from police chowky, i went there and asked them about my passport form verification. At that time I did not pay any bribe but he said that he ll come home within a day or two for verification purpose. He neither did call me nor did he visit my home hence I again went to police chowky after a week and asked about my form, he replied that he has already forwarded my form to police station. After a day or two I went to police station form final step of police verification. He said that he ll call me but i said it was urgent for me to get the passport, then he said ok u can wait here. I had to wait there for two hours before getting my work done. There was no proper process been followed. Bundles of passport forms were just lying around. In the era of digital technology they were still using an old register to maintain the records that too in spite of having a computer on the desk. Finally they filled up my form, verified my documents and got the signature from senior police inspector. While leaving he said me "ya ikde" (come here)and took me behind police station and asked me for bribe. This was the end of my story. I had to pay him, I was left with no option. If only government can come up with some strict process then only the problem of corruption can be solved
