Bribe for a Residence Certificate
It was long back, some of the colleges asked us to furnish residence certificate to join a pre university course. I applied for one at Mandal revenue office and the Clerk told me to come the next day evening and collect the certificate. When I went on that evening and asked him for the certificate, he asked me for money. When I said I did not have, he tells me to come the day after. I did not have money to pay him any bribe and also I never wanted to pay him bribe. I got disgusted after making 2 to 3 trips and decided to report the matter to Mandal revenue officer(MRO). I went straight to him and told that I applied for a residence certificate to join a college and that the clerk was asking for money which I did not have. He immediately called the clerk, told him to prepare the certificate, signed in front of me and wished me good luck.
