While entering the Rishikesh border, we were stopped by the traffic police as soon as he spotted our car which had a GJ number plate. The driver showed all the car registration papers along with his driving license, only to be told that he has to go and see the 'saheb' sitting in one of the office nearby. He went and returned to inform us that although he has all the required papers, we will still need to pay the officer as originally he wanted 1,000 rupees but later agreed to take 500 rps. As there were more ladies in our car than men, we decided to pay to avoid any serious trouble from them.
