On the night of 30th April, at 8:30 pm I was driving home from Eastern Express Highway at the junction going right towards Ghatkopar when I was stopped by an officer: Manish Kadam in a van. He was a plain clothes officer and accused me on talking on the mobile even though I was not . He confiscated my license and threated to submit it in court unless I paid him a bribe of Rs.2000. I was not even carrying that much cash with me and after much humiliation and pleading he agreed to let me go after accepting a bribe of Rs.1000.
The officer refused to share his designation with me and his arrogance and high handedness was to be seen to be believed.
