I lost my driving license on 15th October 2012. To get a duplicate copy, I went to lodge a formal loss report at the nearest police station as is required by law. Only when the police issue a document stating that the driving license was indeed reported lost, does the motor vehicles department issue a duplicate license.
The documents to be submitted for getting the police note are either a photocopy of the license or if that is absent, an affidavit from the court stating that you've lost it.
The process takes 2 minutes. And the constable who did the job asked for some ********** for his boss because the work was done smoothly.
