I do not claim that I never paid bribe but as far as I can remember I paid it only once
I realize that it is difficult to fight the system all alone but I have actually fought it and have reached the age of 75. I do not claim that I never paid bribe but as far as I can remember I paid it only once that too to an Income Tax Officer who sat on my and my family's IT files for 4 years not ready to refund the excess TDS. He threatened to investigate all the cases of all of my family members. Even though I and my family members had nothing to hide ( I have been paying Income tax since 1961), I had to agree to his demand because my son is staying abroad and he would have insisted on his coming personally to defend his case and would have harassed me by calling me from my home to his office every fourth day and I would have had to travel 40 kms either way every time.
