I was saved from paying a bribe because..
I went to the RTO office for endorsing the CNG fitment done for my car, in my RC. Even all papers were intact, i was bounced back by the staff saying that some document was missing. after some effort and wasting of time, i got that document also. in the process, i was advised by all to pay the staff a bribe and get through with the job. Luckily, my friend's wife used to be in the same office some time ago and currently in the office of the Transport Ministry, as a clerk. One phone call from her proved miraculous and my endorsement went on like cakewalk. Otherwise, i would have needed to shell out around 3500/- for the same.
