Khata transfer delayed, raised RTI and got it done within a week
I bought a house in 2009, the Khata transfer on Sale had to be done by the BBMP. But those guys made me go to one office from the other citing various reasons and delayed the issue of the Khata certificate for months - obviously expecting something and I was not ready to pay anything! I was advised by a close friend of my who had the same experience to raise an RTI on the status of the Khata Transfer Application. I did the same and within a week, I received a call from the official - mind you they do not even bother to talk to you properly, face to face earlier. No doubt that they were perturbed by the RTI and immediately acted upon it. The official gave some silly reason as to why it was delayed and also spoke to me as though a favour was done.
