Paid Rs.5/- as bribe
Hi,
This was in Dec 2004. I had applied for passport and got a call from police station in Appa Balwant Chowk for personal verification.
Upon verification of all documents, the inspector told me that there is a fee of Rs. 250/- for the process. I asked for the receipt of Rs. 250/-. He denied. Then I told him that I won't pay the money.
Inspector was very angry and told me to leave. I asked him when my case would be cleared. He angrily replied that he would look into the matter.
I was not sure what would happen. Generally it takes 7-10 days for clearance. For me, it took one month. But it was without paying any bribe.
