REFUSED TO GREASE THE PALM
After a long day at office yesterday, as I entered my apartment, I found that there was no power and the fault was with the transformer installed outside that caters to 3 more apartments in the vicinity. Myself and my friend (both office bearers of the association) went to the electricity office. The engineer there agreed to come and went on to say that we need to pay his two men Rs.500/- each. Keeping calm, I told him that I will pay it, provided he gives me an official receipt for the same in the name of Shri. ********** Hazare and mentioning the transaction as bribe for restoring the power supply. He was taken aback and he fell on my feet requesting me to not to complain this to his bosses. But I have already sent an email and letter to his bosses. I am happy that I resisted the bribe and saved my resident association Rs. 1000/-
