Refused to pay Rs. 500 to a police man to forward my papers for passport verification
I applied for my passport in march 2008.
and then after completing all the formalities when i was waiting for my passport, one day (around **********) a policeman came to my house and said that he have received papers for my passport verification and demanded for money.
i asked him that was there something wrong with the papers or do i have to pay legally for some process.
then he said that papers are all right but if i do not pay him Rs. 500 then he will not forward my papers and my passport will be struck forever, and even i can not apply for a new one after that. he threatened me i will never get a passport ever in my life.
then i asked the name of the policeman (he was in casual dress without any id or batch), but he refused to tell it and went out of my home saying that i have to suffer for my act.
i thought that he was just saying all this and he will forward my papers one day or another....but this does not happened and my passport was struck n his office till oct.
then one day i complaint about this incident to one of my father's friend who was a high rnked staff in police department.
he took my registration no. and tracked down my passport.
after one month (in November) i got my passport.
although i received my passport very late but i still feel very happy bcz i had not paid any bribe to get it.
