RTIhelped me to get the water supply connection restored.
The water supply to all residens were disconnected to upgrade the existing water suppluy line. To do that existing water supply connections were disconnected. However after the upgradation of main line, the reconnection was done to those who paid Rs 950 per connection. The reason given is that they do not have adequate funds at Municipality. Every household silently paid the sum and a group of people under the ward counciler restored the connection. No receipts were given. I refused to pay as it is the municipality who has to restore. If required they may collect funds and issue receipt. My personal visit to the AE, Municipal Engineer did not show any progress.Then I launched a application under RTI to find why they are not restoring the connection. Within a week he municipality restored the connection at their cost.
