I live in Australia and I am trying to get an Australian drivers licence.
To do so I have to get my Indian licence verified from inseam consulate. So I approached the consulate and requested to get me a verification done, I paid the fee filled all the forms. At the end I was told that to get the final verification I have to get a verification letter form Indian RTO that issues me my licence. I told them this is not possible as I can’t travel to India due to work commitment and it can’t be done from here. Then I was told by one of the staff members that he can help me in this. However it has to be done unofficially and may cost me more than the normal fees.
I was shocked to hear this. I have been dealing with the Australian govt. department and not once I was asked to pay any thing that I do not get a recept for. This is really shameful. Over here any Indian would not approach the consulate unless they have no option left. They do not pick up phon, they don’t respond to mails. This is like they behave there. They are not at all helpful, they are rude and they are not at all cooperative. Such sort of actions gives Indians a bad name around the globe. I will not pay a cent for this and i will make sure such actions are punished.
