TTE Demanded bribe to allot vacant berth
I was travelling from Bangalore to Kochi on a general second class ticket. I boarded the train and met the TTE who asked me to sit in an coach with lot of vacant berths. He came later on and converted my ticket to Sleeper Class and demanded extra Rs 50 for allotment of the berth. I declined to pay the extra 50 Rupees he demanded. He said that I was in a Tatkal coach and if I did not pay the 50 rupees bribe, he will levy a charge of Rs 150 extra for travelling in the Tatkal coach. I agreed to pay the Rs 150 for the Tatkal coach instead of paying him a bribe of Rs 50. Even though it cost me more than paying a bribe, I felt happy that I had refused to pay a bribe.
