Hello. I want to obtain my birth certificate. I went to the Aligarh Nagar Nigam and spoke to a government official. I don't know his name. He told me that I need to get the original birth record, SLC and ration card and then only I get a birth certificate. But I did some research online and found that I need to submit two affidavits, it didn't say anything about ration card etc. The Aligarh Nagar Nigam official also hinted that I would have to bribe him, which I will not do. Can you please tell me (1) What documents do I need to submit for the birth certificate (2) Who do I need to submit these to? (3) What are the charges that apply?
