I run a ice cream distribution business in Tiruvannamalai and as a procedure i need to obtain food licence to distribute ice creams to the shops and hotels. The licence fees as per the government norms is Rs 2000 which has been paid at the allocated bank and we have the proof for payment.
Now as per procedure, we need to submit this payment receipt to the food inspector who will then grant us the licence. Now the food inspector is asking for a bribe of Rs 5000 for which we were unwilling and the situation has dragged on for more than a month. Now the food inspector calls up and says if we dont agree to pay, he will close our shutters (exact words).
Now what should i do ? what are my options ? I doubt even his senior is corrupt so i cant take it to his seniors. Please suggest what should be my next step.
