I went on trip with three of my friends to vazhachal waterfalls.
I went on trip with three of my friends to vazhachal waterfalls. Just after crossing the check post at Vazhachal, we stopped to take a dip at the river banks. After 10 minutes , seeing our bikes , a group of police men (kerala forest service) stopped by. As usual they started shouting anf abusing as if we did some crime. They started by asking if we were drunk, on knowing that we were not drunk they asked us to follow them to the police station(Pokalappara Station ). They said we had violated the laws and that we had trespassed. They wrote a fine for 500 Rs . But on checking the receipt we found that it was fake(some donation receipt for tribal cause), so we asked for a govt issued receipt . To this they replied that to get a real fine receipt , they will have to file a case first, and that our vehicles would be seized for that . Finally we agreed on the donation receipt rather than a fine receipt. We would be glad if the money we paid had been used for tribal upliftment , but it doesnt seem yo work so. We feel that all that money would go to the officers pockets, and they have found an ingenious way of accepting bribes "by issuing fake donation receipts"
