NMMC property tax related
Having filed an application to include my name in the property tax invoice generated by NaviMumbai Municipal Corporation, I was asked by the relevant officer to pay Rs 1000/- over the official charges to get my work done. Surprisingly when I commented that its too high, I was told that "we need to also pay something to the incharge of the unit and also some to the head office". All relevant documents required have already been provided for this transfer but the matter is stuck since I've showed my disinterest in paying the bribe. I did ********** the assistant tax officer in the head office and indicated the same but i was told casually to get the amount of bribe reduced and asked to pay. this matter is dated October 2012.
