Verification by police is necessary for renewal of passport. In this process, the policemen demand Rs. 500/- each (normally 2-4 of them come for the verification.) People say if you do not pay them the bribe, they will not take the process forward. Kindly let me know what should I do as the date for renewal of my passport is approaching soon.
