We at ipaidabribe.com do not believe in targeting officials, but in a systemic change. If a corrupt official is targeted, he may be out of his post. However,  another corrupt official will enter his shoes. But if we have a clean and transparent system, no official will be able to penetrate his way into getting benefits out of it. 



Never go through touts. They are the major source of corruption in our country as there is a well connected nexus with the touts and government offices. Next time you go to the office, ask for them in writing the reason for not accepting the application. Threaten them that you would escalate the matter to the senior officials. I would suggest that you make a written complaint about such case to the vigilance authorities mentioned in the website of the External Affairs Ministry, at http://passport.gov.in/



Demanding bribes for passport verification is a common problem. The situation is one where the police know that you have no choice, and so extract a price from you. Be firm with the police and let them know that you know the rules and will not pay a bribe.

We went for Passport office in Pune for urgent passport. they are asking bribe. so we went thru agent(s) all agent say they require a class 1 officer signature for urgent passport. but on the site it says its optional if the applicant has 3 of the 14 documents mentioned in the option 2. this truth is mostly hidden from all. so agent charges 10K to 15k for the same. while applying tatkal passport directly will only charge 2.5k. and all the office in Passport office (pune) are so corrupt that they are not accepting the application without bribe, i would donate the money instead of paying bribe. and even in police verification they ask bribe. I think just posting incident here wont help. we also need to post the details of the govt employees asking bribe, location etc.
