For a berth confirmation on a train to join engineering college

I was travelling from my home town to get admitted into my engineering college, and the train i got reservation for was cancelled because of heavy rains. I got full amount back, and bought a reservation ticket for the next available train and got on that train it.
We were already exhausted, as we were busy in arranging documents required for admission, and it was a night journey on the train and wanted a berth for me and my father travelling on the train.
The TC was upset when i gave a bribe of 40 rupees, and rejected my request outright for a confirmation of berth. Then i had to wait to get some time to get some of his time, and offer 150 to get an RAC confirmation for half the journey time, and a bribe to a second TC for the second of the journey time.
