Bribe at the airport.....they officer make friend and then hit you

• Customs, Excise and Service Tax
• Customs Check and Clearance
• Paid INR 30,000

Me and my friend were going to Bangkok and were carrying cash about 80000 rs. we were done with the immigration check.
then a official came and tried to friendly with us . after talking to us for a while , he asked us that how much cash we were carrying , we said 80000. he took us in a room. he started all his tantrum , that you are not allowed to carry cash so much , we will have file a fir against you and all that. it is true that we cannot carry so much cash in Indian rupees , but we could have got it changed in the airport.

they started fearing us that you people will miss you flight. i requested him that this was my first time and i dont know how much allowed . they said if you don't pay all your money will be forfeited and you might all land up in jail

we requested him what was the way ( after about 45 mins discussing and full checking of our bags were done). they said that we should give them the half money what we were carrying i.e. 40000. and some more quarreling they settled for 30000.

but this was not correct , after words when inquired , i came to know that carrying of that much of cash was not allowed but we could have deposited the with the custom department and get it back when we came back , and could have exchanged for dollars .

the major four international airports are at the rd mark of corruption.
