I built a new apartment and registered it with Municipal corporation. A property tax officer visited my apartment to assess property tax. He assessed yearly tax which was normal, as what being paid in that area. Then he demanded Rs 2000 as bribe to in the name of chai paani, saying that I was fortunate to have built a new apartment. And he will give me good services for collecting yearly taxes etc. I paid him, because I imagined that not paying, he may target me in future for whatever bad services. His request was just like begging.
